71st Annual National Trout Festival   (Apr 25 - Apr 29, 2007)
Carnival, flea market, craft show, walk/run race, car show, children’s activities, horseshoe tournament, model plane air show, senior events. Mesick Mushroom Festival   (May 11 - May 13, 2007)

Festival of Tables   (May 12, 2007)
The 6th Annual Festival of Tables will be held at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. The festival celebrates the art of home entertaining with food and wine tastings, creative table designs, interesting demonstrations, a silent auction, gourmet lunch, and fabulous raffle packages. Lake Leelanau Walleye Festival & Car Show   (May 12 - May 13, 2007)

4th Annual Empire Asparagus Festival   (May 18 - May 19, 2007)
The Spring Asparagus Harvest will be celebrated with festival in the Village of Empire on Friday and Saturday. Events include: a fun run/walk at 9 a.m. at Wilco Hill, kids' games, a car show, a parade starting at 2 p.m. on Front Street on Saturday, cooking contest, an ''Ode to Asparagus'' poetry reading/reception on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Empire Town Hall, Lions' Club Asparagus Dinner, dance from 8-11 p.m. at Empire Town Hall and much more. Downtown Empire. Leland Wine and Food Festival   (Jun 9, 2007)

81st National Cherry Festival   (Jul 7 - Jul 14, 2007)
This is the Big One! America’s Cherry Capital celebrates its heritage with an eight-day party that features over 150 family activities. There are air shows, fireworks over the Bay, three parades, games for all ages, midway rides and nightly open-air concerts – and plenty of opportunity to taste and sample dozens of delicious cherry products..   • Hole-in-One Golf Contest at Bay Meadows Golf Course, Barney Road, west of Traverse City.11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • Midway Amusements - enter off Union Street - open 11 a.m.
  • Bay Side Entertainment Stage - Open Space. 1 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission is your Commemorative Pin. Enjoy a musical sampling all day long. Festival Open Space. 
  • Children's Fishing Pond - children fish and win prizes. Fish are cooled and donated to the Clinch Park Zoo for the hungry bears and otters. Open Space. 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 14th activities:

  • A Cherry Pancake Breakfast - a cherry pancake breakfast topped with cherries and all the trimmings. 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Fee required. Open Space, Grandview Parkway & Union.
  • Ultimate Air Dogs Finals - Dock Dog Jumping  10 a.m. - noon and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Festival of Races - divisions include 15K and 5K runs and a 5K non-competitive walk. Register on line at www.cherryfestival.org. Packet pickup and registration is at TC Central High School, Eastern Avenue. Race starts at TC Central High at 7:30 a.m. and ends at the Grand Traverse Heritage Center. Buses will be available to take you back to the High School.   
  • Cherry Royale Parade - the granddaddy of the festival parade series, over 150 units and surprise entries. 11:15 a.m. Railroad to Front to Union to 13th Street.   
  • Semi-Finalists Drawing for the Commemorative Pin Program - 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Open Space.
  • Cherry Pit Spit Contest - 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Festival Open Space
  • Ice Cream Social - the final social featuring cherry sundaes. Fee required. 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Open Space. 
  • Commemorative Pin Final Drawing. 7 p.m. Open Space.
  • Milk Carton Boat Regatta - the wackiest ships on the bay compete in time and design categories. All boats must use milk cartons for floatation. 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. Clinch Park Beach, Grandview Parkway.

Empire Anchor Days   (Jul 14 - Jul 15, 2007)

Harbor Days 2006 - Elk Rapids   (Jul 30 - Aug 5, 2007)
Carnival and midway - opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. on the 30th. Harbor Days Community Dinner in the Park from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday. Kid's Day is Friday at Veterans Park. Also on Friday is Movie Night in the Park starting at 9:30 p.m. Saturday is Family Day with family sandcastle building, tug of war, paddlebuoy races, pet show. Fun runs on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m.; 5K and 10K starting at 9 a.m. as well as the Grand Parade starting at noon on River Street. The Port Oneida Fair   (Aug 3 - Aug 4, 2007)
An event that includes a variety of activities presenting traditional rural crafts, skills, cultural traditions and history, as well as contemporary art inspired from the rural landscape and culture. Over 40 presenters will share their skills and knowledge through demonstrations, exhibits, presentations, and hands-on activities. Northport Wine and Food Festival   (Aug 11, 2007)

39th Annual Buckley Old Engine Show   (Aug 16 - Aug 19, 2007)
Large steam engines, old tractors, antique cars and trucks, sawmill, veneer mill, tractor races and pulls, bowl mill, wheat ground into flour by gas engine and many places to eat. Old Time music, arts & crafts show, woodworking & woodcrafts. Large Flea Market. Cider Mill demonstration daily. Peshawbestown Traditional Pow Wow   (Aug 17 - Aug 19, 2007)
The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians holds its annual Pow Wow every August in the village of Peshawbestown, just north of Suttons Bay, featuring native singers, dancers, artists and artisans.
